In the Union Budget 2020, Finance Minister Shri Nirmala Sitharaman announced the immediate launch of PAN facility soon. Finance Minister in his budget speech said that to simplify the PAN allotment process, we will soon launch a system. The scheme was launched by the Finance Minister on May 28, if you have an Aadhaar card and the mobile number is registered in the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) database, you can easily avail this facility.
CBDT has given detailed information about this. This scheme is named e-PAN. After the launch of this facility, now you can get your electronic PAN number for free without any fee. The scheme was initially launched on 12 February 2020 on a pilot basis by the Income Tax Department, but now after the approval of the Finance Ministry, it has been rolled out for all.

Step-1 For this the applicant has to go to “The Income Tax Department’s e-filing Portal” incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in.
Step-2 Then in the Quick Links section of the homepage, you will see the option of “Instant PAN through Aadhaar“, Click on it.
Step-3 As soon as you click on “Get New PAN“, a new page will open in front of you.
Step-4 Now in the form that appears in front of you on the screen, first you have to “Enter your Aadhaar Number” > “Captcha Code” and “Tick Confirm” That and click “Generate Aadhaar OTP”.
Step-5 Now in the next Validate Aadhar Details step your Aadhaar related information will appear, which should be checked for any errors. After that, by ticking the “I Accept” That button, you have to click on the “Submit PAN Request button“.
Step-6 You will click on the “Submit PAN request button“, immediately a new page will open in front of you in which “Thank You We are Validating Your Details” will be written.
Step-7 Along with this, you will also be able to see the “Acknowledgment number” i.e. “PAN Request number“. You have to note down this number or take a print out of it.
Step-8 After that click on “Check status“, within 10 minutes your pan card will be generated, which you can download for free.

To download PAN card, please visit Income Tax Department’s e-filing Website www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in.
Click on the “Aadhaar Based Instant Permanent Account Number (PAN)” link.
After entering the Aadhaar number in the Space provided, Enter the OTP on the Mobile number registered with Aadhaar. Check Application Status – Check whether Permanent Account Number (PAN) has been allotted or not.
If the PAN number has been allotted, press or “Click the download button to get a copy of the e-PAN PDF”.
